The St. Louis Cardinals know it's a long season. They still find themselves in last place in the National League Central entering play Friday, but after their recent stretch of good play they're only six games back in a very winnable division.

St. Louis is 9-2 over its last 11 games after starting the season 10-24. The turnaround isn't complete yet, but that's quite a start.

St. Louis scored 16 runs Thursday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers, but have three more games against one of the premiere teams in the league this weekend. Can the Cardinals keep up their winning ways of late?

The Parlay (+967):

  • Steven Matz Under 4.5 Strikeouts
  • Nolan Gorman 2+ Total Bases
  • Cardinals Moneyline

Same-Game Parlay – Dodgers vs. Cardinals

Steven Matz Under 4.5 Strikeouts

Steven Matz isn't a big time strikeout pitcher. He has a 20% strikeout percentage this season and a 22% strikeout percentage for his career. He's gone over this number just three times in eight starts so far this season.

Matz has failed to cover this number in each of his last four starts, too. His splits are concerning as he has just an 18% strikeout percentage against right-handed batters this season.

The Dodgers only have two left-handed batters in their projected lineup tonight. We'll go with he under to start off the Same-Game Parlay.

Nolan Gorman 2+ Total Bases

Gorman is as hot as any hitter in Major League Baseball right now. Gorman has an ungodly .339 ISO against right-handed pitching this year.

Dodgers starter Tony Gonsolin hasn't been terrible with power prevention to left-handed hitters as he has allowed just a .125 ISO to left-handed hitters this year. Still, Gonsolin has a 4.94 xFIP this season. That's nothing special.

We'll ride the hot hand with Gorman, who only needs a double or two singles to cover the second leg of this Same-Game Parlay.

Cardinals Moneyline

The Cardinals are streaking right now. Their offense scored 16 runs Thursday night. They have the starting pitching advantage in this game. They're at home. The Dodgers have the fifth worst bullpen by ERA in all of baseball entering play Friday (4.54). What more do we need to be backing the Cardinals here?

With the odds we're getting on this Same-Game Parlay, you could even take the Cardinals on the run line or just Nolan Gorman to get at least one hit if you want to be a little safer. I think this is a great spot for the Cardinals, though, and the odds are much better than I can usually find for a Same-Game Parlay.
