The Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox are two teams having very different seasons.

The Guardians are still making a push for the playoffs, as they enter play on Friday trailing the Twins by just 1 1/2 games in the AL Central.

The White Sox, however, enter play Friday trailing Minnesota by 13 games.

Chicago's trade of pitcher Lucas Giolito earlier this week signaled that it's officially no longer pushing for the playoffs this season.

Anything can happen in baseball, though. Will the White Sox be able to put up a fight at home against Cleveland tonight?

The Parlay (+506):

  • Jose Ramirez 2+ Total Bases
  • Andres Gimenez 2+ Total Bases
  • Guardians -1.5

Same-Game Parlay – Guardians vs. White Sox

Jose Ramirez 2+ Total Bases

Jose Ramirez is in a great spot tonight. Ramirez is coming off of a two-home run game on Wednesday, though he only has three home runs total in July.

This could be the start of one of his big-time hot streaks.

Ramirez has a .198 ISO and .388 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. In his career, Ramirez has a .232 ISO and .367 wOBA against right-handed pitching.

Touki Toussaint is due to get hit this season; he has a 4.60 ERA, but his xFIP is 5.06.

Andres Gimenez 2+ Total Bases

On the surface, Andres Gimenez isn't having a great season. His ISO against right-handed pitching is merely .150, and his .298 wOBA against right-handed pitching leaves much to be desired.

Gimenez has been a new man in July, though. Gimenez is slashing .253/.337/.468 in the month of July. That's good for a .215 ISO.

In a good matchup on the road against Toussaint, I like Gimenez to cover this line tonight. All we need from Gimenez is a double or two singles to cover this leg of the SGP.

Guardians -1.5

With Toussaint on the mound for the White Sox, Cleveland should have the advantage early in this game. The Guardians have the left-handed power hitting to put up runs in bunches against Toussaint.

In his last start, he only faced three batters. But in his start before that, he allowed five earned runs and a home run.

After Toussaint is out of the game, the White Sox have the fifth-worst bullpen ERA in all of baseball at 4.68. The Guardians have the second-best bullpen ERA in all of baseball at 3.52.

I give Cleveland the clear edge in this one, and with the White Sox waving the white flag earlier this week by trading a veteran for prospects, they don't figure to push a contender like the Guardians very much.
