The Yankees will send their ace, Max Fried, to the mound tonight. Fried has posted a 1.69 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP through his first starts at Yankee Stadium and has held opponents to a .184 batting average in the process.
Fried is coming off of his worst start of the year against the Dodgers in Los Angeles, where he allowed eight hits, six earned runs and two home runs, while striking out just three across five innings. He’ll have an excellent chance to get back on track tonight against a Guardians team that, outside of Jose Ramirez, has struggled mightily against lefties this season, ranking 21st in OBP, 27th in SLG and 23rd in wRC+.
