The New York Yankees are used to finding themselves atop the odds board heading into MLB seasons and now New York residents will be able to get in on the action legally.

New York sports betting goes live on Jan. 8. Four sportsbooks will be immediately available to place wagers: FanDuel, DraftKings, Caesars and BetRivers.

Baseball might not be on the brain in the middle of a lockout. But getting on the Yankees now before they sign a shortstop or make further improvements before the season begins could be the way to go.

Let's look at odds across New York sportsbooks when it comes to the Yankees.

New York Yankees World Series Odds

Although they aren't the outright favorite, the Yankees once again find themselves among the World Series favorites. They currently sit anywhere between 10-1 and 12-1 on the four sportsbooks available in New York.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the favorites to win the World Series at +600 closely followed by the Houston Astros who sit around +800 on most sportsbooks.

Then there is a conglomerate of teams that sit around 10-1 including the Yankees, Mets, Rays, Blue Jays and White Sox.

New York Yankees AL East Odds

The AL East is expected to be the toughest division in baseball. The Rays, Blue Jays and Yankees are among the favorites while the Red Sox aren't far behind them at 18-1 on most sportsbooks. Four out of the five teams in the division have a legitimate shot at winning the World Series.

DraftKings is currently the only legal NY sportsbook that is offering odds for who will win the AL East.

New York Yankees American League Odds

All four books have released odds for who will win the American League pennant.

The Yankees are +500 on DraftKings, +550 on FanDuel, +525 on Caesars and +550 on BetRivers to win the AL.

The Astros are the favorite to win the American League with the White Sox, Rays, Blue Jays and Yankees all bunched behind them.

As we've seen in years past, the Yankees will likely continue to get a lot of money as we get closer to the season. Especially with the legalization of sports betting in New York.

There are no odds available yet for individual awards, but as the season approaches you can be sure Gerrit Cole will be near the top of the AL Cy Young oddsboard.
