I'm taking George Klassen over 14.5 outs tonight, and I like it down to -145.
Five innings is not a super hard target to hit for the Angels starter, and we're not even really having to pay so much for this one.
Obviously, Klassen is not a good pitcher. The BAT X has him with a projected ERA of nearly five going forward, but this is a pretty good matchup. He's going into a pitcher's park in Miami, facing a below-average Marlins offense.
Even though Klassen is not very good, he has been allowed to throw a lot of pitches, especially at triple-A this year.
Angels vs Marlins Pick, Betting Analysis
Klassen only threw around 70 pitches or so in his couple of starts in MLB this season, but it was early in the year when he was still being stretched out.
In his last five starts in the minors, he's been able to go over 90 pitches in two of them, even going over 100. In his last eight or nine outings, he's gone over 85 pitches.
So he's a guy who, assuming he's not getting lit up, is capable of throwing 90-95 pitches here.
