Angels vs Guardians Spread Prediction
Today, we get the Guardians against the nonsensical low strikeouts and low velocity of Angels right-hander Kyle Hendricks.
At some point, a team is going to absolutely obliterate Hendricks once the BABIP luck goes awry. I am banking on some of that today, as the Guardians are absolutely going to put the ball in play against him.
I'm backing them to win by multiple runs and also to go over their team total.
Jose Ramirez is the obvious leader of the group, while Daniel Schneemann has a whopping .245 ISO against right-handed pitching this year. Kyle Manzardo profiles well in this matchup, and I just like this as a get-right spot for this offense.
Slade Cecconi is returning from injury and is clearly the better pitcher here, and I also trust Cleveland's bullpen a lot more.
Give me all the Guardians bets today.
Pick: Guardians -1.5 (+120)
Tigers vs Royals Best Bet: Fade Skubal?
By Justin Van Zuiden
I am somewhat concerned about Tarik Skubal after he pitched the first shutout of his career; the Tigers might take it easy on his pitch count today.
He's obviously a great pitcher, but the Tigers also need to start thinking about the later stages of the season. They are steamrolling toward the playoffs already, and it makes no sense to burn Skubal out now.
Let's say Skubal gets through six innings today with around 90 pitches. Are they sending him back out for the seventh after he threw nine innings last weekend? I don't think so.
He would have to be hyper efficient to get through seven-plus frames, and my money is on a six-inning outing today.
Pick: Tarik Skubal Under 18.5 Outs (-150)
Rockies vs Mets Home Run Prop
By Justin Van Zuiden
For the first several years of his career, we always wanted to highlight Pete Alonso for his big-time power against left-handed pitchers.
However, his splits against righties are what stands out in 2025. The sample size is large enough to be noteworthy at this stage — the Mets slugger leads the team with a .408 wOBA and .263 ISO against righties this year.
He gets a dream matchup today against a low-strikeout righty in Antonio Senzatela and an awful Rockies bullpen in relief.
I love Alonso to go deep in this one.
Pick: Pete Alonso Over 0.5 Home Runs (+270)
Red Sox vs Braves Team Total Pick
By Justin Van Zuiden
This Boston offense is much less dangerous without Alex Bregman in the mix, and Braves starter Spencer Schwellenbach is better than many people think.
