Max Scherzer is a NRFI phenom, holding an outstanding 1.84 ERA in 2021 that resulted in a 30-5 NRFI record. He started 2022 true to form, going 2-0 to the NRFI.

Finding value in Scherzer is easy as everything returns a positive return on investment. Although, there’s one spot where Max is unordinary proficient. Max is 20-2 to the NRFI when he is coming off a win since 2021.

Now, specifically Scherzer is 2-0 to the NRFI against the Giants in his recent outings. Furthermore, the Giant's bats are slow out the gate when compared to last year's team. Resulting in them not achieving a YRFI in their last three games.

Three key batter-pitcher matchups in Maxs favor are:

  • Darin Ruf: 2-for-9 (.222)
  • Joc Pederson: 2-for-16 (.125)
  • Wilmer Flores: 0-for-17 (.000)

Logan Webb is accountable. He isn’t a NRFI great nor a Hall-of-Famer, but he gets the job done. His 2021 NRFI record finished at 21-9. Two key splits that make Webb more attractive are, when Webb is facing hitters for the first time through the lineup, batters are only hitting him for .197. On top of this batters in the No. 1 spot are only hitting him for a .169 batting average.

Webb's best NRFI spot is taking him in a non-division game when he is on the road, he is 11-1 to the NRFI since 2019 in this situation. In his recent success, Logan is 1-0 to the NRFI against the Mets as well.

The Mets bats are also off to a slow start actually worse than the Giants. They are the 23rd team in the MLB in first innings runs per game.

Three key batter-pitcher matchups Webb may face are:

Eduardo Escobar: 1-for-9 (.111)
Jeff McCneil: 0-for-3 (.000)
Starling Marte: 1-for-8 (last eight at-bats)

Look to pair Mad Max and Logan Webb taking the NRFI between the Giants/Mets.

As always, six outs to glory…
