MLB NRFI Odds, Picks, Predictions: Look for Shane Bieber, Chris Archer to Continue First-Inning Dominance (June 30)

On Thursday, we travel to Cleveland to take a NRFI between two American league teams: the Guardians and the Twins.
Shane Bieber is a walking NRFI. His 13-1 2022 NRFI record is just a glimpse of his past dominance. Since 2020, he owns a league-leading record of 38-5 to the NRFI. His 2022 first-inning ERA is sitting at 0.64, he has held his opponent’s to a .087 average, only allowing four hits to 50 batters faced. Bieber has also not allowed a home run in the first inning all season.
Despite the Twins' hitters having decent success against Bieber, he has won every NRFI opportunity he has had. Dating all the way back to the 2019 season he is 9-0 to the NRFI against the Minnesota Twins.
The Twins have had decent success in the first inning in June, but taking deeper dive, in their last 15 first-inning plate appearances they have only one hit.
On the other side, we have veteran Chris Archer. Despite his age, Arches owns an 11-3 2022 NRFI record with an impressive 6-1 road NRFI split. When facing hitters the first time through the order, Archer is holding them to a lousy .179 average.
Myles Straw continues to struggle in the top of the order. He’s just 3-for-22 in his last 25 at-bats. Josh Naylor, who is projected to bat fourth today, is also struggling as he is just 3-for-17 in his last seven days. Since June began, the Guardian’s rank 21st in hard contact in the first inning.
