Tigers vs Guardians Player Props: Tanner Bibee Over 6.5 Strikeouts
The Detroit Tigers are in the middle of a historic collapse, having led the AL Central by 14 games on July 8, and by 10 games on September 3. They have gone 5-14 in September while slashing .229/.301/.381 as a team. Yesterday, their lineup struck out 19 times, with Gavin Williams punching out 12 after recording nine strikeouts in Detroit last week.
Tanner Bibee pitched the series finale in Detroit last week and fanned eight in six innings. He has recorded eight strikeouts in both starts against the Tigers this season. Despite a 4.34 ERA on the season, Bibee has had the Tigers' number this season as he has only allowed one run in 13 innings.
Bibee has 18 strikeouts over his last two starts, including a complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts against the White Sox. He gets a Tigers team that ranks fourth in strikeout rate on the year. Given how putrid their offense has been of late, I expect Bibee to pile up the strikeouts once again.
Dodgers vs D-backs Player Props: Blake Snell Over 5.5 Strikeouts
After making 20 starts last season, Blake Snell has been limited to 10 starts this season. However, in those 10 starts, he has shown why he was one of the most coveted free agents on the market last offseason. This season, Snell has a 2.44 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 55 and 1/3 innings.
Snell has recorded six strikeouts in each of his last four starts and six of his last eight since returning from the IL. That includes eight strikeouts in four of them. Tonight, he has a difficult matchup tonight as Arizona ranks 24th in strikeout rate. However, Shohei Ohtani fanned eight against the Diamondbacks last night.
Snell also had eight strikeouts against Arizona last month. Snell is elite at generating swing-and-miss and limiting hard contact. He should also have advantages tonight, as he recorded 30 strikeouts in 92 at-bats against Arizona's projected lineup. That will give him opportunities for six and it would not be a shock to see him climb the ladder. He is available for eight strikeouts at +230, nine strikeouts at +425, and 10 strikeouts at +750 on Fanatics.
Cardinals vs Giants Player Props: Alec Burleson Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
Alec Burleson returned to the Cardinals lineup on September 8 and since then, he has recorded a hit in eight straight and 11 of his last 13 games. In that span, he is slashing .351/.413/.561 with seven runs scored, nine RBI, and seven extra-base hits, including two home runs.
He will look to help the Cardinals complete the series sweep in San Francisco. The Cardinals have taken the first two games by scoring 15 runs, three of which have been driven in by Burleson. He is also hitting a respectable .267 against left-handed pitchers.
Given how hot he has been, I am expecting him to at least find the hit column. He also has six multi-hit games this month, and has recorded two or more hits + runs + RBI eight times in his last 13 games, which I expect to continue tonight.
