For my Monday MLB player props, I'll be looking into a pair of hitters in Michael Harris II and Maikel Garcia. However, first we will begin with Logan Gilbert as the Mariners take on the Phillies.
Let's dive into my MLB player prop picks for the MLB games on Monday, August 18.
MLB Player Props for August 18, 2025
- Logan Gilbert Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+100, Fanatics)
- Michael Harris Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + Runs Batted In (-135, BetMGM)
- Maikel Garcia Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + Runs Batted In (-140, Caesars)
Mariners vs Phillies Player Props: Gilbert Looking to Keep Strikeout Streak Alive
Gilbert has just one win in his last five starts, but it is not due to his own struggles. In that span, he has a 3.14 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 28 and 2/3 innings. He is up to 124 strikeouts in 89 and 2/3 innings for the season.
Gilbert has fanned at least six in nine of his last 10 starts. Tonight, he has a difficult matchup against the Phillies, who rank 24th in strikeout rate against right-handed pitchers this season. However, prior to yesterday's morning outburst, the Phillies had scored just nine runs in their previous five games.
Additionally, Gilbert had seven strikeouts in six against the Phillies last season. Gilbert has worked six innings in three of his last five starts and when he does, he usually clears this line. Still, Gilbert has cleared this line in 12 of 17 starts this season and I expect that trend to continue tonight.
White Sox vs Braves Player Props: Harris a Force in Atlanta Tonight
Harris singled in his first at-bat and came around to score. He finished 1-for-5 on the afternoon, very mundane for what he has been up to of late. Yesterday's game snapped a string of eight consecutive multi-hit games.
He is hitting .452 over the last week, but his hot streak stretches much longer. Over the last month, he is hitting .382 with eight home runs, 20 RBI, and a 1.096 OPS. He still has a 10-game hitting streak that he will look to extend tonight.
The White Sox will start Yoendrys Gomez tonight, who has seen time with both the Dodgers and Yankees this season. He dazzled in his first career start against with seven strikeouts in five innings while surrendering just one run. He may get another traditional start, but if he is just the opener, Mike Vasil may follow him.
However, left or right-handed pitcher, it has not mattered for Harris. "Money Mike", as he is known in Atlanta, has been money for prop bettors of late. He has cleared this line in each of his last nine games while averaging 4.4 per game in that span. I like that streak to continue back home tonight.
Rangers vs Royals Player Props: Garcia Hitting in Prime Spot for RBI
Garcia has not quite been as hot as Harris of late, but he has a hit in eight of his last nine games himself. He is hitting .300 on the nose entering tonight's game. He will look to raise that average tonight against Jack Leiter. It is a matchup that he will likely welcome as Garcia is 2-for-3 against Leiter thus far.
Leiter has shown vast improvement in his second MLB season. However, he has a 1.34 WHIP this season and his ERA to 4.60 on the road. Additionally, he has been more vulnerable against right-handed hitters, who are hitting .259 against him this season. Garcia is hitting .294 against right-handed hitters with 36 of his 48 extra-base hits against them, including eight home runs.
Yesterday, Garcia put the Royals in front for good with a RBI single in the eighth inning. Of late, he has been batting cleanup, which is prime position for a lineup that includes Bobby Witt Jr. batting second as well as Vinnie Pasquantino batting third. As a result, Garcia has driven in a run in each of his last three games. That has helped him clear this line in seven of his last 10 games, while averaging 2.2 per game. That includes a game where he did not have a hit but scored twice.
