Pirates vs Brewers Pick, Betting Analysis

Unsurprisingly, I like under in this matchup between two top-30 starting pitchers.

Jared Jones has found his form, which is no surprise considering how well he's thrown the ball. Also, advanced stats have been high on Logan Henderson all year.

The Pirates have moved from a bottom-10 bullpen to a league-average bullpen, and that gives them a slight upgrade. That certainly pushes them closer to Milwaukee in terms of pitching caliber.

I make this number about 6.8. I bet the under 7.5 (-120) and under seven at even money would be fine as well.

Now for a bonus, the Pirates are now make +370 to make the playoffs, and you can get them as high as +425 after all the trades. They're projected to finish right at 82 wins.

They're likely competing with the Marlins and the Padres for the final wild card spot in the NL. It looks like the Phillies and the Cubs are pretty substantial favorites to make the playoffs right now, as the Phillies are listed at -400 while the Cubs are listed at -2200.

The third spot is up for grabs, and the Pirates are in the mix for that. They're a decent bet on the futures market, especially relative so the Marlins and Pirates.

I also have Don Kelly to win Manager of the Year.

Pick: Under 7.5
