Giants vs Orioles Preview
After allowing an offensive barrage to the New York Mets last weekend, the San Francisco Giants have quietly won three straight and have done so on the heels of great pitching. They've outscored their opposition 17-3 on their winning streak and now are in a great spot to extend it tonight with Logan Webb taking the ball.
Webb got back on track in a big way his last time out against the Mets, spinning seven innings of one-run ball while only walking one batter and striking out three more. Tonight, he'll face an Orioles lineup that has shown they can make plenty of loud contact, but they have one flaw that could prove fatal against a pitcher like Webb.
Baltimore has put 42.7 percent of their balls in play on the ground. Webb is arguably the best groundball pitcher in the game.
Expect another hyper-efficient outing from Webb as he attacks the zone and generates a bevy of quick outs.
Part of the Giants' extending their winning streak in the opening game of this series last night took a toll on the Orioles' pitching staff. Shane Baz only went five innings yesterday, which led to Albert Suarez and Nick Raquet eating up multiple innings in relief.
While the Orioles have another long relief option in Tyler Wells available, it would be far from ideal to burn another arm for the rest of the weekend. So, it will be up to the crafty veteran Chris Bassitt to provide some length.
Bassitt's Orioles tenure has not gotten off to a great start as he enters with a 14.21 ERA after lasting just 6.1 innings, displaying uncharacteristically bad command over his first two starts. While the 37-year-old is certainly in decline, he still had some encouraging numbers that point to him rebounding tonight.
Bassitt has largely produced soft contact, with nearly 47 percent of balls in play against him on the ground. He's also avoided barrels and has been unlucky with the home run ball.
San Francisco still holds the fifth-highest groundball rate and is ninth in chase rate. While they have some pop, this matchup profiles as one that will work in Bassitt's favor.

Giants vs Orioles Picks
As I highlighted above, Chris Bassitt is in a spot where he needs to bounce back and eat innings for the Orioles. He will not only have a sizable leash, but should have success against a Giants lineup with flaws that feed into Bassitt's efficiency.
Back the veteran to work into the sixth and cash the over on his outs prop.
Pick: Chris Bassitt Over 15.5 Pitching Outs (+100) | Play to -120
