For my Tuesday MLB player props, I'll be looking into a pair of Dodgers: Freddie Freeman and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

Let's dive into my MLB player prop picks for the playoff game on Tuesday, October 14.

MLB Player Props for October 14, 2025

  • Freddie Freeman Over 1.5 Total Bases (+130, BetMGM)
  • Yoshinobu Yamamoto Over 16.5 Outs Recorded (-105, DraftKings)

With career totals surpassing 500 doubles, 350 home runs, and a .300 batting average, Freeman has made many teams pay over the years. In a game with only nine hits combined, Freeman collected two of them including a solo home run that ultimately proved to be the difference as the Dodgers held on for a 2-1 victory last night. Unfortunately, for Brewers' manager Pat Murphy, Freeman is not likely to oversleep and miss tonight's game.

Last night's home run was Freeman's 15th in 69 career playoff games. This postseason, he has seven hits and four of them have gone for extra bases with three doubles and a home run. He has not enjoyed a great degree of success against Freddy Peralta, but he does have six hits against him in 26 at-bats, including two doubles and a home run.

Peralta had a career year in the regular season, going 17-6 with a 2.70 ERA and 204 strikeouts. However, he has failed to go six innings in either of his postseason starts. Three of the seven hits he has allowed have been home runs, which has led to a 4.66 ERA thus far. Whether Freeman only gets one or two opportunities against him, I like his chances to clear two total bases.

Pick: Freddie Freeman Over 1.5 Total Bases (+130, BetMGM)

Yamamoto's lone start against the Brewers this season did not go well. He only recorded two outs while allowing five runs (three earned) on four hits while walking two. It is the shortest outing of his MLB career thus far. However, Yamamoto still flourished this season with a 2.49 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and 201 strikeouts in 173 and 2/3 innings.

He dominated the Reds in the NL Wildcard Series but allowed three runs in four innings as the Dodgers dropped Game 3 of the NLDS against the Phillies. If Yamamoto pitches well tonight, I am expecting a longer outing. The Dodgers bullpen is rested after Blake Snell dominated last night and went eight innings.

However, it also only took one inning for the Dodgers bullpen to nearly squander a two-run lead. If this Dodgers team has a weakness, it is certainly in the bullpen where they have struggled all season. If Yamamoto is pitching well, manager Dave Roberts will not have a strong incentive to go to his bullpen earlier than he needs to. With that in mind, I believe there is value on Yamamoto with a line under 17.5 outs recorded.

Pick: Yoshinobu Yamamoto Over 16.5 Outs Recorded (-105, DraftKings)
