For my Saturday MLB player props, I'll be looking into both starting pitchers Kevin Gausman and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
Let's dive into my MLB player prop picks for Game 2 of the World Series on Saturday, October 25.
MLB Player Props for October 25, 2025
- Kevin Gausman Under 16.5 Outs Recorded (+100, bet365)
- Yoshinobu Yamamoto Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+148, BetRivers)
After pulling off an upset in Game 1, the Blue Jays are playing with house money at home.
However, they cannot afford to take chances with this Dodgers' lineup as they are bound to punch back in Game 2 tonight.
Toronto will send Kevin Gausman to the mound for his fourth postseason start, and while Gausman has provided length for the Jays, he'll have an early exit tonight.
Over his four appearances, three of which are starts, Gausman holds a 2.00 ERA.
However, his xERA of 4.58 and xFIP of 4.37 are more telling of how he's actually pitched this postseason. Gausman's first-pitch strike rate is just below average, but his walk rate has skyrocketed, indicating he's been working a lot of deep counts.
Deep counts are what the Dodgers are looking for, as they had the second-highest walk rate among MLB lineups. Los Angeles will make Gausman work tonight, and he will pay for any mistakes left in the zone as his expected stats indicate sizable regression is looming.
With a well-rested bullpen and a day off tomorrow, don't expect Gausman to have the chance to work through much traffic, as these home games are critical for Toronto in this series.
Pick: Kevin Gausman Under 16.5 Outs (+100, bet365)
Next, we switch sides and turn our attention to Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
Yamamoto is in a unique spot after Blake Snell gave the Dodgers just five innings last night.
Los Angeles had to turn to its bullpen early, and the results were not good.
If Los Angeles is going to even up this series tonight, we are going to see the ball in Yamamoto's hands for quite a while.
After all, Yamamoto has been solid this postseason as he enters with a 1.83 ERA this postseason. We've seen Yamamoto attack hitters efficiently as his first-pitch strike rate is well above average, and his walk rate is microscopic.
The Blue Jays have not seen Yamamoto, and that unfamiliarity will only amplify their tendency to take first-pitch strikes against him. The Blue Jays are a team that swings a lot and generally puts the ball in play, but that's easier said than done against Yamamoto.
Look for Yamamoto to be aggressive tonight as his leash will be long, giving him a big window to hit the seven-strikeout mark, which he has done 52% of the time this season.
Pick: Yoshinobu Yamamoto Over 6.5 Strikeouts (+148, BetRivers)
