Shayne Trail breaks down his favorite NRFI/YRFI bets of the day below, but you can follow all of his bets in the Action Network app.
Matchup | L. Severino (Yankees) vs. F. Valdez (Astros) |
First Pitch | 7:37 p.m. ET |
Luis Severino finished the season 15-3 to the NRFI with a proficient 7-1 road NRFI split. Here is how he has done in the past against some of these Astros hitters:
- Alex Bregman: 3-for-18
- Jose Altuve: 2-for-7
- Kyle Tucker: 1-for-5
- Yordan Alvarez: 1-for-3
Impressively, Severino has absolutely dominated leadoff hitters. In 51 at-bats he’s only allowed seven hits, which is good for a .137 average.
The Astros will counter with Framber Valdez, who finished the season 25-6 to the NRFI with a 10-4 home NRFI split.
Valdez's most notable matchups today are against Giancarlo Stanton, who is 6-for-8, Aaron Judge, who is 1-for-5 and Gleyber Torres, who is 2-for-8.
Like Severino, Valdez also performed extremely well against leadoff hitters as in 94 at-bats he’s only issued 17 hits, which is good for a .181 average.
These two teams achieved the NRFI Wednesday and today we will have a better combination of pitchers. FanDuel priced this NRFI at -128 while I have it priced at -135, leaving an advantage to the NRFI.
Pick: NRFI (-128 at FanDuel)
