Robinson’s role has become both extremely defined and regressed as the series has advanced: he plays a full 12 min Q1, then a 5-7 Q3 stint, and that’s it. In Game 5, he logged 20 minutesc but that included a few extra due to Towns foul trouble. In a normal script, he’s capped around 17 minutes. Once Josh Hart checks in, Robinson is done for the night, and the Knicks close small. Even worse for his R+A upside, Indiana’s offense is cleaner at home. Fewer missed shots = fewer rebound chances. Plus, when the Pacers target Brunson in pick-and-rolls, Robinson gets pulled out of position, limiting his ability to crash the glass. And if the Knicks fall behind? We may see more Precious Achiuwa, or Carlisle may even force Thibodeau’s hand with a “hack-a-Mitch” approach again. Tonight I have him projected for 18.3 minutes. Losing upside when the KAT-Wright-Shamet lineup plays Q2 and late Q3. He’s gone under this number in 4 of 5 games this series, and his path to an over likely requires 4+ offensive rebounds, which is no guarantee especially if he’s matching with Myles Turner the entire 1st quarter. The minutes just aren’t there. Unless chaos hits, this is a strong under. #PlayerProps

One of the biggest adjustments the Knicks made in Game 5 was where they started picking up Haliburton. He was getting picked up on average around halfcourt which makes it harder to effectively pass to someone who is in a scoring position. Additionally, the Knicks were face guarding him with Mikal Bridges. They were denying him the ball and playing extremely physical defense. This was done in an effort to just prevent him from even getting the ball in his hands. Between the general ball denial and the strategy to pick him up earlier, he can still make effective passes but they may lead to more hockey assists than actual assists here. His potentials dropped tremendously in Game 5 with only 10 leading to 6 assists. The Pacers playing more Mathurin is worse for Hali’s assists as well because he is someone that can score on his own in isolation. I’ll bet under 10.5 assists and while this could go wrong fast with someone of Haliburton’s passing chops, the defensive change is there to see a bit of a dip.

20+ in two straight suddenly after being abysmal the first 3g, and they need more from him with Nesmith struggling. He’s getting to the line a ton too. Random but worth playing outlier high outcomes. Averaging 0.7 points a minute and already has two 20+ minute games including the most recent.
