I want to lean on the Rockets spread because I’m sky-high on them and super low on the Mavericks. I make this line Houston -10.5.
However, Dallas is a very wide ceiling-to-floor team for me. I’m too worried that they are better than my power rating on them, so I’m staying away until I can see them, even though I’ll be kicking myself if Houston is up by 15 points in the 4th quarter.
I'm also leaning over. Based on last year, it’s an under, but the Rockets’ offense might be dynamite this season and roll this over completely.
The impact of new shooting coach Chip Engelland is massive, but I don’t want to buy into their shooters just yet. Except for a couple of players I'll mention below.

I'm going with two props tonight: Jabari Smith Jr. and Max Christie, both Over 1.5 threes made.
Smith might be the secret beneficiary of Engelland and looked terrific in preseason.
As for Christie, pay the juice. He hit this in 71% of all games last season, and he had the second-most catch-and-shoot attempts for Dallas in preseason, who were fifth in total 3PA per game in preseason action.
