Warriors vs Bucks NBA Preview
In the NBC doubleheader a few days ago, the Bucks and Warriors each won.
The Bucks rallied to defeat the Knicks 121-111 while the Warriors cruised to a 98-79 victory over the Clippers with a dominant second half.
Now, they meet in Milwaukee, with the Warriors having won four of the last five meetings.
Golden State is off to a 4-1 start and is averaging 126.5 points per game. They have five double-digit scorers thus far, led by Stephen Curry, who is averaging 27 points and five assists.
He also has 31 points per game in his last four matchups against the Bucks, scoring over 30 points in two of them and 29 in another.
On Tuesday, the Warriors held the Clippers to 36.6% shooting and forced 16 turnovers, an impressive effort on the second night of a back-to-back.
The Warriors are tied 13th in defensive rating this season. They are also 21st in pace, which is not a big surprise with their veteran core.
However, Jonathan Kuminga has brought energy and athleticism to the starting lineup. The 23-year-old is averaging 16.2 points, a team-leading 7.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists while shooting 53.7% from the field.
Head coach Steve Kerr has committed to him being in the starting lineup moving forward.
Meanwhile, the Bucks enter tonight's game at 3-1 while Giannis Antetokounmpo is playing at a historic level once again.
With 37 points on Tuesday, he became the first player in NBA history to have 30 points and shoot 60% from the field in his first four games.
He is averaging 36.3 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists per game on high usage thus far.
However, the Warriors are not the only team with a balanced scoring attack. Five Bucks are averaging 12 points or more.
Behind Antetokounmpo is Ryan Rollins at 15.3 points and 4.3 assists per game. He is coming off a career-high 25 points against the Knicks.
This may be a bit of a revenge game for him, considering he began his NBA career with the Warriors in 2022.
Not yet on the Bucks' list of double-digit scorers is prized free-agent signing Myles Turner. The 29-year-old is shooting 31.6% from the field and 22.7% from three.
However, he has provided floor spacing for Antetokounmpo and rim protection with 2.3 blocks per game. I would expect him to get going soon offensively.
Warriors vs Bucks Prediction, Betting Analysis
The Warriors and Bucks both enter this matchup in the top 10 in offensive rating, with the Bucks ranking 10th in pace.
Golden State is 4-1 to the over this season, with three games over 233 points.
Meanwhile, the Bucks are 3-1 to the over this season, and that lone under was a game with 231 points.
Additionally, four of the last six meetings have gone over, which makes sense given that Curry and Antetokounmpo are on these sides.
The Warriors make Antetokounmpo work more than most teams.
However, he has scored 30 points in each of his last three games against them, including a game in which he shot just 9-for-26 from the field.
Meanwhile, the Bucks have given up 24 points to Donovan Mitchell and 36 to Jalen Brunson in their last two games.
I like Curry for 25 points, considering his own success against them.
Jimmy Butler has enjoyed playing against the Bucks as well, both in the regular season and playoffs.
He is averaging 21.5 points and 4.5 rebounds to begin the year. He has recorded at least 25 points+rebounds in four of his first five games.
I will close out this parlay with Kuminga, who has recorded five rebounds in every game, including three with eight or more. I like him to grab six tonight.
Pick: Over 231.5 (-110, bet365)
