In recent years, the tertiary All-Star Saturday event alongside the two main staples has been the Skills Competition. However, this time around, the league will be replacing it with something different in the Kia Shooting Stars contest.

NBA All-Star Saturday will begin from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California at 5:00 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. The Shooting Stars competition will be the second event on the docket, with no official start time listed.

Let's get into my NBA Shooting Stars predictions and picks for All-Star Weekend 2026.

NBA Shooting Stars Odds for All-Star Saturday

  • Team Knicks +170
  • Team Cameron +250
  • Team All-Stars +300
  • Team Harper +425

NBA Shooting Stars Preview

Four teams of three participants compete by shooting across seven spots.

You have to make from every spot. You have to shoot in order, and you have to shoot from these spots in order:

You will notice almost all the shots are on that right side.

The funny thing is, none of these players in this contest except Jalen Brunson have been good from that side this season.

Now, the samples are small, and those shots are often going to be contested.

It’s not reliable data. But this is a weird set up with it being an imbalanced floor.

I was hoping to find some sort of sneaky underrated team, and there is one — but man, is it hard to bet.

The Harper family has a surprisingly good profile for this competition.

Derek Harper Jr. is a sneaky good shooter when you look at his G-League stats.

However, their father is 64 though, and Dylan has little-to-nothing to prove. He has the range.

So, at the longest odds for a small sample shooting competition, and with the raw talent here, getting Team Harper at +425 is not bad value.

Kon Kneuppel might be the best pure shooter in the contest, but his range isn’t consistent inside the arc, and Jalen Johnson is even more shaky.

Corey Maggette might be the best retired player in this field, though.

The safe bet is on Team Knicks at +170.

Towns is great from above the break and Brunson is terrific from pretty much every spot in the contest.

I have no idea how to cap Allan Houston in this.

Neither Scottie Barnes nor Chet Holmgren profile as the shooters you would need, though Holmgren is solid from the right side.

NBA Shooting Stars Prediction, Picks

3-Star Prediction: Team Knicks +170

Brunson is the best talent in this competition, and the best shooting talent from all ranges.

2-Star Prediction: Team Harper +425

This is a sneaky secondary pick based on the strength of Derek Harper Jr.

1-Star Prediction: Team Cameron +250

I mean, Kon Kneuppel is a really good shooter.
