It's Civil War time Corvallis! The Ducks head to Oregon State to take on the Beavers in a massive Pac-12 rivalry, which sadly may be gone in the near future.

The two will play two games in a two-week period to complete the 2024 home-and-home.

Dating back the last few seasons, the Ducks have been in control, winning five straight times in this series.

Oregon State will surely have something to say about that, and the Beavers have the firepower to beat anyone in the conference at home. They're one of three Pac-12 teams to take down Arizona this season.

Oregon Ducks

Oregon has a far better record than Oregon State and is still in the hunt for the Pac-12 title race, but none of its metrics will turn any heads.

As of writing, the Ducks have failed to crack the top 50 in any measured college basketball metric. Their best rank is 3-point percentage, which is 36.5% (via Vincerix).

Oregon will need a big game from its center, N'Faly Dante. Dante is the team's second-leading scorer and is a problem for any Pac-12 team on both ends.

If Oregon wants to find success, it'll need to work the ball through Dante, rather than working through its guards like it usually does.

Oregon State Beavers

Oregon State is out of the Pac-12 race, but it'll be locked in to beat its rival at home. At the end of the day, if you told Oregon State fans the team beat both Arizona and Oregon this season, they would say that was a successful year.

Completing that task won't be easy for the Beavers, as they'll be slightly outmanned on the perimeter and will be really outmanned down low.

However, their fate is in the hands of guard Jordan Pope. He's had an amazing second year in Corvallis and has a great future ahead of him.

With Oregon having a major advantage down low, Pope will need to have a day. He leads the team in scoring and shoots 38% from 3. Oregon has a few guards that can create and make it happen, and Oregon State only has Pope.

Betting Pick & Prediction

Oregon is the better team, but this is Oregon State's Super Bowl. The Beavers aren't playing for much, but beating their rivals at home provides enough motivation.

Without a doubt, the Ducks will get what they want down low; I don't see Oregon State stopping Dante. The Beavers will need to control Oregon's guards and lean on Pope to facilitate offensively.

If Oregon State doesn't pull off the upset, I would expect it to be a close battle.

Pick: Oregon State +7
