The No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide (8-1, 6-0 SEC) host the No. 11 Oklahoma Sooners (7-2, 3-2 SEC) in an SEC college football showdown on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
Alabama is coming off a 20-9 victory over LSU, moving to 8-1 on the season. The Crimson Tide haven't lost since their 31-17 defeat at the hands of Florida State to open the season.
Oklahoma, meanwhile, is coming off a bye week after defeating Tennessee by a score of 33-27. Quarterback John Mateer looked like himself in that game, breaking off 3 explosive rushes and forcing 3 missed tackles.
So, where does the value lie in this one? Let's dive into our Alabama vs. Oklahoma picks and college football predictions for Week 12 on Saturday, Nov. 15.
Spread Pick
Our Spread Pick: Oklahoma +6
Our staff is leaning toward Oklahoma, but I'm going against their expertise here.
There may be no hotter team in college football than the Crimson Tide right now. Since a loss to Florida State that's actually looking worse by the week, the Tide have rolled to seven straight victories.
At one point, they had beaten four top-15 teams in a row.
Not only is Alabama hot, but it's had this one circled on its calendar for a full year. The loss to Oklahoma last year not only embarrassed Kalen DeBoer’s squad, but it also essentially knocked it out of College Football Playoff contention.
If this were a Nick Saban-coached squad, I'd say the Tide would win by 50. However, DeBoer has proved his mettle by going 2-0 in SEC revenge games this season.
Oklahoma’s defense will be what keeps it in this game. The Sooners rank 17th in PFF overall defense and boast impressive advanced metrics, ranking first in Success Rate allowed and top-10 in Havoc and Points Per Opportunity allowed.
However, Oklahoma’s defensive stats have been bolstered by a weaker schedule than expected, and it allowed 21-plus to both Tennessee and Ole Miss recently.
The difference here is in the offenses, as Alabama is also excelling on the defensive side of the ball, ranking 22nd in PFF defensive grade.
The Tide's edge comes at the quarterback position, where Ty Simpson is a clear advantage. The Alabama signal-caller has rebounded from a rough start to the season against the Seminoles to be a dark-horse Heisman contender.
With the game in Tuscaloosa, I love the Tide to win by a touchdown or more.
Over/Under Pick
Over 45.5 | 2 Picks |
Pass | 1 Pick |
Under 45.5 | 5 Picks |
Our Over/Under Pick: Under 45.5
The Action Network staff lends a big nod to the Sooners and Tide falling under the total Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.
The Crimson Tide have the home-field advantage, but Oklahoma’s defense will be the best unit on the field Saturday. The Sooners are just one of five defenses in the country allowing four yards per play or fewer this season.
Brent Venables has playmakers on all levels, led by a front seven that should test Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson.
Oklahoma’s 33 sacks this season are the third-most for any Power 4 program entering Week 12. R Mason Thomas is the leader with 6.5, while six other Sooners have accounted for multiple sacks.
A better pass rush has helped Oklahoma in the secondary. After allowing 12.5 yards per completion last season, that number has dropped to 10.8.
The Sooners have also been one of the most misunderstood teams in the totals market in 2025. They’ve only gone over the closing total twice all season and haven’t combined with an opponent for more than 60 points once.
It’s tough to envision any sort of track meet, especially factoring in an Alabama defense that's just one of seven units allowing 10 yards per completion or fewer this season.
The Crimson Tide have gone 4-1 to the under over their last five games as a home favorite. Take it again on this Week 12 college football Saturday.
