I'm still questioning whether or not Dabo Swinney has mentally recovered from the weekly Clemson radio spot when "Tyler from Spartanburg" questioned why his salary was so high. It was obvious his team came to play last week.

However, the Tigers have gone from competing for national titles to barely reaching bowl eligibility in a matter of two seasons.

On Saturday, they'll host a high-flying Georgia Tech team that has been playing outstanding football of late.

Let's break down the Georgia Tech vs. Clemson odds and find a pick and prediction for Saturday's college football matchup in the ACC.

Clemson Tigers

Last weekend, the Tigers impressively stifled Sam Hartman and the Notre Dame offense, holding on for a 31-23 victory. Clemson was outgained in total yards, but its defense held its own in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

This will once again be a true test for this defensive unit. The Tigers rank inside the top 10 in Havoc, as well as Passing and Rushing Success Rate.

Considering Georgia Tech loves to go fast on offense, it's really important for this group to set the tone and dictate the tempo. Forcing King into long third-down situations will allow these pass rushers to let loose.

On the other side of the ball, quarterback Cade Klubnik concerns me most. Klubnik was pretty awful last week, completing 13 of his 26 pass attempts for 109 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

He will benefit from a much better matchup this week, but Klubnik has still struggled against far superior opponents. However, he has been a much better QB at home, posting a 9:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

Their offensive metrics as a group are pretty solid, as the Tigers have been explosive on the ground. They're 26th in Rushing Success Rate, and quite frankly, they could be even better.

Running back Phil Mafah was the story of last week's victory, as the tailback pounded the Irish defense for 186 yards on 36 carries. Will Shipley is expected to return this week, but if the Tigers were smart, they would still give Mafah the majority of the work.

With the running back roles up in the air, I don't really know what to expect out of this offense. I'm sure the Tigers will manage to score a fair share because of the matchup, but I'm still concerned due to a lack of consistency.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Head coach Brent Key has done one of the best coaching jobs throughout the entire FBS this season. He has taken over a dead-in-the-water Yellow Jackets squad and completely shifted the entire outlook of the program.

The Ramblin' Wreck have won two straight games over North Carolina and Virginia and eclipsed 42 points in both games. It's safe to say this offense is on an absolute tear.

Quarterback Haynes King has been perfect for this offensive system. Last week, he threw for over 200 passing yards and two touchdowns while adding an additional two scores on the ground.

The Yellow Jackets' offensive metrics are spectacular, ranking inside the top 30 in some key categories. Notably, they're 11th in Line Yards and 28th in Rushing Success Rate.

This will be a true test for this group, considering Clemson is one of the top defenses in the Power 5. If this offense can maintain its success in Finishing Drives and Quality Drives (top-35 in both categories), I think it's live to win this game outright.

The problem for the Jackets is their defense has been a real liability all season long. Granted, this Clemson offense has not been a world-beater by any means.

Despite getting gashed at times, they've been excellent in a couple of areas, ranking top-30 in both PFF coverage and tackle grading.

I still have huge concerns for the Jackets, especially since they're bottom-20 in Defensive Line Yards and Rushing Success Rate. They don't fare much better against the pass, and they're an abysmal 103rd in Quality Drives Allowed.

For what it's worth, Georgia Tech has the special teams edge by a large margin

There's no notable injury news for the Jackets, but the question remains if this offense can sustain enough success against this Clemson defense. If they can put together multiple touchdown drives, they'll be alive on their way to covering this number.

Predictions, Picks

Considering the Tigers treated last week's win as their Super Bowl, I'd be shocked if they didn't come out sleepwalking. Also, I definitely do not want to lay two touchdowns with this Tigers offense.

Granted, I could see a scenario in which Clemson's defense steps up and completely shuts down this Ramblin' Wreck offense. But I'm too much of a believer in King, and I think this offense is good enough to sustain some success.

Key will have his team fired up for this matchup, as I think they've been on a mission all season to prove that the program's days of being in the basement are long gone.

Yes, I'm a bit worried about the task at hand for this offense, but I have way more faith in King than I do Klubnik at this point.
