College football's national championship will be settled on Monday night as Georgia takes on Alabama in a rematch of the 2021 SEC title game, won by the Crimson Tide.

We're tracking the Georgia vs. Alabama spread all day Monday to see how the price moves.

There have been some significant line moves, with sharper sportsbooks moving to Alabama +3 early Monday, telling us those books have taken more action on Georgia.

Tracking Georgia vs. Alabama Line Movement

Monday, 4 p.m. ET

If you're solely looking at the Georgia vs. Alabama consensus line, it appears all quiet on the national championship front.

However, with Georgia money continue to flow, BetRivers made a move to -3.5 and was quickly met with Alabama backers pouncing on the hook and slamming this spread from +3.5 to +3 less than 30 minutes later.

Monday, 1:58 p.m. ET

I have a feeling this is what the rest of the day will be like leading to Monday night's Georgia vs. Alabama kick off.

Once again, Bulldogs bettors have jumped at the ability to get down on Georgia off the key number of -3.

The UGA -2.5s that were widely available earlier this afternoon are essentially gone now as the market is now littered with Bama +3.

Monday, 1:30 p.m. ET: This spread differs depending on the sportsbook.

Caesars is down to Georgia -2.5 (-115), while DraftKings has UGA -3 (+100) and Alabama +3 (-120).

We expect more action and small line moves in the hours leading up to kick.

Monday, 12:40 p.m. ET: The game of Georgia vs. Alabama ping-pong continues.

The national championship spread was at Georgia -2.5 earlier today before Bulldogs action drove the consensus line up to -3.

Well, as of early Monday afternoon, Bama buyback has hit the market, pushing this number back to -2.5.

Monday, 10:21 a.m. ET: Here comes Georgia money!

Earlier this morning the Georgia vs. Alabama spread sat a consensus line of Bulldogs -2.5, though some market-setting books were up to -3.

National championship action has come in Georgia over the past few hours, convincing more shops to move to -3, which has also moved the consensus line to that number.

Still, there are some shops, like BetMGM, hanging UGA at -2.5 (-115).

Monday overnight: Some of the sharper sportsbooks moved to Alabama +3 on Sunday and into Monday night.

Friday, Jan. 7: Toward the end of last week Alabama, buyback hit the market at the key number of +3, kicking this spread back down to -2.5 at many sportsbooks.

Saturday, Jan. 1: This line opened at Georgia -2.5 at most shops before early number pushed the spread up to -3 in early betting last weekend.

Importance of Latest Georgia vs. Alabama Spread

Seems pretty straightforward, right? Not necessarily.

While the market consensus is now Georgia -2.5, a handful of American sportsbooks that are known to offer the biggest limits to bettors, like Circa and Westgate SuperBook, are still hanging Crimson Tide +3.

In fact, Circa is at 'Bama +3 at a vig of -115, an attractive discount for prospective Crimson Tide bettors.

So what does this tell us?

First, it reveals that books willing to take large wagers from respected bettors are heavier with Georgia money than the rest of the market and are reacting by offering Alabama at a better price than the market, and at the most important line in football betting no less.

And second, it means that bettors have no excuse to take bad number as long as the Georgia vs. Alabama spread continues to be split like it is on Monday morning.

However, would you rather back Nick Saban getting a full field goal against a team he already beat convincingly this season?

That's fine too — just be sure you don't settle for less than Alabama +3, especially if you can grab the +3 (-108) that begging for action via the SuperBook app in New Jersey, Colorado and Nevada.
