Colorado State Rams Odds & Betting Guide — 2026 Season

Colorado State enters a new conference with a new coach, a roster partly imported from Connecticut, and a season-ending opponent that has not been decided yet. Very little about this team can be priced from last year.

Where Colorado State stands

The 2025 season fell apart quickly. Colorado State went 2-10 and 1-7 in its final Mountain West campaign, and Jay Norvell lost his job on Oct. 19 after a 2-5 start. Tyson Summers finished the year as interim, and Norvell's tenure closed at 18-26.

The collapse was steeper because of what preceded it. Norvell had gone 8-5 in 2024, reaching a bowl for the first time since 2017 and the eight-win mark for the first time since 2014, while the program set an attendance record averaging 33,082 across seven home games.

The longer pattern is less flattering. Despite one of the old Mountain West's larger football budgets and better facilities, Colorado State has produced one winning season since 2018 and is now on its fifth head coach since 2012.

Jim Mora arrives from UConn, where he won nine games in each of the past two seasons. He brought as many as 14 Huskies with him and added portal pieces at several positions. Pryce Tracy takes over the offense, while Summers stays on as defensive coordinator for a third season with Kenny McClendon joining as co-coordinator.

The Rams changed conferences

Colorado State left the Mountain West on July 1 for the rebuilt Pac-12, joining Boise State, Fresno State, San Diego State and Utah State from the same league, plus Texas State from the Sun Belt and holdovers Oregon State and Washington State.

The eight-team league gives Colorado State seven conference games. The Rams host Oregon State, San Diego State and Boise State, and travel to Texas State, Utah State, Washington State and Fresno State. Checking the full conference field is worth the time here, because the hierarchy that governed Mountain West pricing for a decade no longer applies.

The Nov. 28 opponent has not been announced. The Pac-12 reserved the final week of the regular season as a flex week, matching teams late in an attempt to strengthen a contender's College Football Playoff résumé. Those games do not count toward conference standings. Anyone betting a Colorado State season-long market is therefore wagering on a schedule that is one game incomplete.

The non-conference slate opens with Wyoming on Sept. 5, the Border War rivalry now played between former conference partners for the first time. FCS Southern Utah follows, then No. 14 BYU visits Fort Collins on Sept. 19 and the Rams travel to UTSA.

That number reflects a 2-10 season more than it reflects the current roster, and the current roster is barely recognizable. Mora imported a substantial portion of a UConn team that won nine games in consecutive years, which is a genuinely unusual kind of continuity: not returning production, but transplanted production from a program that was winning.

The over case is that 3.5 is a very low bar for a team with a proven head coach and a functional core arriving together. Four wins requires beating Southern Utah plus three of Wyoming, UTSA, Texas State, Utah State, Washington State and Fresno State.

The under case is the schedule and the unknowns. BYU and Boise State are the two best teams Colorado State will face, and the Rams get both. A first-year staff installing new systems on both sides, against a conference nobody has data on, in a season where one game is still unscheduled, is about as uncertain as preseason betting gets.
