College Football Bowl Projections for Week 9
In a college football season that has already had a record number of losses by Associated Press Top 25 teams, another rarity is a very real possibility this year.
LSU, Miami, Nebraska and USC — four of the biggest names in the sport that have combined for 11 national titles in the past 38 years — could all miss out on a bowl game. If so, it would mark the first time since 1960 that all four schools did not play in a bowl game in the same season.
Regarding schools that will go bowling this year, there are already 30 bowl-eligible teams so far with 82 teams needed to fill the bowls.
My College Football Playoff semifinal projections remain the same from last week: Alabama vs. Ohio State and Georgia vs. Oklahoma.
The projections for the remaining New Year’s Six bowls: Sugar: Kentucky vs. Iowa State; Rose: Oregon vs. Michigan; Peach: Pitt vs. Notre Dame and Fiesta: Ole Miss vs. Cincinnati.
