Dak Prescott, Brock Purdy Player Props: Expert Cowboys vs 49ers Projections

Two of the NFL's most popular franchises — and best teams — face off on Sunday night, as we look for Cowboys vs. 49ers player props in an exciting primetime Divisional Round matchup.
Brock Purdy, like Dak Prescott did, has taken his opportunity as a rookie and run with it. The 49ers offense has been humming since the seventh-round pick took over, looking like he's been the starter all along.
We have picks on both Prescott and Purdy for this big-time game, so let's get into our Cowboys vs. 49ers player props.
Dak Prescott
Over 15.5 Rushing Yards (BetMGM)
I’m riding with Chris Raybon on Dak Prescott’s rushing yards.
Raybon has Prescott projected for 23 rushing yards, creating a great edge on 15.5 at BetMGM. Raybon said in his Sunday picks that he would bet this prop all the way up to 20.5.
Basically, Prescott is using his legs much, much more often of late. Here’s the breakdown, per Raybon, of Prescott’s rushing volume:
- First seven games: 2.7 carries, 10.1 rushing yards
- Last six games: 5.5 carries, 22.5 rushing yards
Those totals don’t just include Prescott scrambling, as he’s getting more designed runs of late, as well.
Brock Purdy
Under 20.5 Completions (BetMGM)
Purdy’s lines are pretty sharp for this game, as most of our experts’ projections are close to being in line with them.
Where there appears to be a slight edge is Purdy’s completions. The total at BetMGM is 20.5 (-120), and Koerner is projecting the seventh-round rookie for 18.2 completions.
Purdy has started seven games this season, including last week’s Wild Card Round win over the Seahawks. He’s only gone over this completions total twice.
When the 49ers offense is operating at peak efficiency, it’s primarily going through the run game. Obviously, Christian McCaffrey is the star, but Elijah Mitchell and Deebo Samuel are fantastic to do damage on the ground in his stead.
There’s a big enough edge here and enough of a track record on Purdy that I’ll lock this one in as a bet.
