Another Thursday, another high-voltage night of football. This time around, the New England Patriots (4-2) travel to Soldier Field to take on the Chicago Bears (4-2). With both teams looking to advance to 5-2 to solidify their playoff ambitions, tonight’s game will be crucial for both franchises. While FanDuel Predicts traders place the home team as the favorite, there is one key player who could disrupt the Bears' plans tonight.

Patriots vs. Bears Odds: Moneyline, Spread and Total
The Chicago Bears enter their Week 7 matchup as -2.5 home favorites, trading with 59% implied odds on the FanDuel Predicts moneyline. Traders appear to be leaning increasingly in favor of the local team, while the Patriots trade with 41% implied chances and contracts selling at 40 cents as of Thursday late afternoon.
The strongest argument for backing the Bears odds on the moneyline is their offensive momentum and their home-field advantage.
Caleb Williams has been surgical leading the Bears' offense, putting up elite performances in recent games. His efficiency and synergy with playmakers like Luther Burden and D'Andre Swift give Chicago a distinct explosive advantage over New England's defense. At the same time, the Patriots are dealing with key injuries in their secondary.
The spread opened with the Bears as -1.5 favorites. As the days went on, the Patriots' injuries convinced traders that -2.5 was the way to go. Still, I think FanDuel Predicts traders are being too conservative. The Bears could easily cover -3.5, and I would even go as far as -4.5.
Their offensive firepower combined with the Patriots' defensive vulnerabilities creates an explosive matchup for tonight. Along those same lines, targeting the Over on 51.5 total points seems like a solid approach to this game.

How New England’s Injury Report Moved Market Pricing
Looking at the FanDuel Predicts market, it is striking how noticeably traders have swung toward Chicago in recent days. Up until October 18, it was a very balanced matchup, but injuries across New England's defense had a massive impact on prediction markets.
The Patriots enter this game severely short-handed along the offensive line and in their defensive backfield. They have officially ruled out starting guards Alijah Vera-Tucker (hamstring) and Ben Brown (knee), alongside cornerbacks Carlton Davis III (neck), Channing Canada (hamstring), and Karon Prunty (hamstring). Additionally, starting right tackle Morgan Moses is listed as questionable with a foot injury.
The contrast with the Bears is stark. Overall, Chicago’s roster is healthy and hasn't lost any key cogs, so its explosive offense is expected to be in full force tonight.
Despite all the factors in their favor, the one person who could make things difficult for the Bears tonight is Drake Maye.
Tonight’s Big Duel: Drake Maye vs. Chicago’s Pass Rush
Drake Maye’s mobility and off-script playmaking present a major threat to Chicago’s aggressive pass rush. Rather than remaining a static target, Maye excels at escaping early pressure and extending plays to strike deep downfield.
Because Chicago often drops into heavy single-high man coverage on pressure downs, Maye’s ability to slip past the initial rush can leave cornerbacks isolated, creating opportunities for explosive gains.
This trench battle becomes even more critical given the state of the New England Patriots offensive line. A depleted line opens up immediate interior pressure lanes for Chicago’s pass rush, collapsing the pocket from the inside out and leaving Maye with less room to step up, set his feet, and go through his field progressions.
It is going to be an exciting matchup to watch, though I believe Chicago’s game plan will ultimately prevail in the end.
