Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers will be played tonight at 8 p.m. ET at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It will be broadcast on ESPN and streamed on ESPN+.
Dallas will want to forget Game 3. The Oilers embarrassed them and made obsolete what was once a strength for the Stars. Edmonton has the opportunity to go up 3-1 heading into Dallas tonight.

Dallas Stars Preview: From Star to White Dwarf
The Stars looked like a defeated team during Game 3. This series is far from done, but if they continue down this path, it may be over much sooner than expected.
Dallas came into the game slow as molasses, letting the Oilers jump ahead with two goals in 36 seconds, with just under six minutes left in the first period.
Ultimately, it set the tone for the whole game, and I suppose the one saving grace of that game was that Jason Robertson finally got on the scoresheet.
Robertson has been the Stars’ most consistent goal scorer for the past three seasons, and Sunday was his first of the playoffs.
Regardless, there’s no denying how pitiful the Stars have looked throughout the series. They’ve driven play extremely poorly with a below-average expected goals rate, with a 47.91 xGF%, and were the worst defensive team with a 3.29 xGA/60.
One of the biggest concerns for Dallas fans and bettors is the play of Jake Oettinger. He’s always been a high-performing playoff goalie, but it seemed like he got all his elite play out of the way in the second round.
It was expected Dallas would struggle against Edmonton and its star power, but Oettinger is getting lit up like a Christmas tree, allowing 12 goals on 76 shots faced.
Additionally, he had a save percentage of .929 during the last round. Against the Oilers, he has yet to have a game where he’s registered over a .900 SV%.

Edmonton Oilers Preview: Barrel Full of Goals
You have to think the Oilers are licking their chops.
Not only do they have the Stars right where they want them, but there’s also potential for revenge in the Stanley Cup Final after losing to the Panthers in seven games last year.
One of the worst things an opponent can do, though, is allow the beast to be unleashed.
Connor McDavid has done his fair share in the playoffs, but he’s had a hard time finding the back of the net. On Sunday, he lit the lamp twice, and you have to wonder if there’s more to come from the best player in the world.
Leon Draisaitl and Evan Bouchard have also had their way in this series. Especially Bouchard, who has registered two goals and three assists in the three games played.
The knock on Edmonton has always been its defense, and McDavid has actually been quite snippy when answering questions about it. However, the numbers aren’t exactly telling, as the Oilers have the worst 5-on-5 xGA/60 out of all four Conference Finals teams.
It essentially forces them to put all their eggs into Stuart Skinner’s basket.
If you’re a loyal reader, you know how I feel about Skinner. You never know what you’re going to get.
While his performance has been exceptional since returning from being benched (three shutouts in his past five games, including a one-goal outing), you have to think, given his trajectory, that some negative regression is on the way.
Stars vs. Oilers Prediction, Pick
I think we're due for a large scoring outing in northern Alberta.
For one, I can't envision Dallas taking two straight losses on the chin in —the fashion it lost in— and asking for more. That's not how the Stars have rolled all season.
Not only that, can we expect another lights-out performance from Skinner? I'm a little skeptical.
The Oilers will get theirs. They usually do. But I think Dallas is going to give Skinner its best shot.
Edmonton's defense has slumped a little, as I mentioned, which can't be a good sign for Skinner moving forward. Let's rock with a high-scoring duel at plus-money.
Pick: Over 6.5 (+110, DraftKings)
