2022 MLS Cup Betting Odds, Market Report: Public Backing Nashville, Philadelphia to Lift Trophy

Major League Soccer kicks off its season Saturday, with 18 teams in action across the United States and Canada.
New York City FC is the defending MLS Cup champion, but not favored to repeat last season's title run.
Three other franchises — Seattle, New England and Los Angeles FC — share favoritism at +700 odds.
BetMGM is getting some action on Seattle, which is currently taking 4.4% of the tickets and 4.3% of the handle. However, very little action is occurring on New England at 1.5% of the public and 1.4% of the handle. As for LAFC, the Western Conference side is at 0.7% of the bets and 0.4% of the money.
The Revolution won the 2021 Supporters' Shield, which is awarded annually to the club with the best regular-season record.
The biggest liability for BetMGM is Nashville SC, which opened at 25-1 to win the cup and remain at 25-1 despite currently getting 28.5% of the tickets and 21.6% of the handle. Playing in the Western Conference for the first time, Nashville sits at +1400 odds to win the conference.
The other major liability for BetMGM is the Philadelphia Union. The Eastern Conference side carries +1600 odds to win the MLS Cup. The Union are currently getting 21.2% of the public and 21.7% of the money.
Philadelphia has the second-highest odds to win the East at +700 odds at BetMGM.
The long shots getting some action from the betting public are the Vancouver Whitecaps. They opened with 66-1 odds and remain at the number on BetMGM. The Whitecaps are 5.8% of the tickets and 4.4% of the handle.
It appears the Colorado Rapids could be getting some of the smart money. The defending Western Conference champions are +1600 on BetMGM, getting 4.4% of the tickets and 7% of the handle.
