Euro 2024 Best Bets

Expert picks and predictions from the first 12 matches of the group stage.

Scotland vs. Germany

Friday, Jun 14
3 p.m. ET
First Half Under 0.5 Goals (+220 or Better)

Michael Leboff: I think Scotland is going to show up here and just try to make themselves robust and tough to beat, hard to break down.

I think it takes a little while for a team like Germany, with all that pressure on their shoulders as the host and one of the tournament favorites — and a huge favorite in this match — to find their way in this game.

I think that creates a pretty good atmosphere for like a stodgy, rock-fight-like game for the first 45 minutes.

The odds tell you it's very likely Germany jumps out ahead here, I just think it takes them a little bit of time to get there. So I think the first half to go under 0.5 goals at +240 is a good bet here.

Switzerland vs. Hungary

Saturday, Jun 15
9 a.m. ET
Switzerland ML (+115)

Brad Cunningham: This Switzerland team was incredibly impressive during qualifying and had a +2 expected goal differential per 90 minutes. This is a squad that's been playing together under Murat Yakin for a really, really long time.

They know the system very well. They're very good at dominating the half spaces. Their passing triangles are going to be able to pull Hungary out of position.

I have a lot of concern for this Hungary team out of possession when they're not able to just sit in their low defensive block. They're a bad team on set pieces, they're bad at defending on transition, and then they're very reliant on Dominik Szoboszlai to be their main guy in build-ups.

So if Switzerland decides to take him away, I'm not sure they're going to be able to actually build through a Switzerland side that is a very good defensive team and very hard to play through.

I project Switzerland around -140, so I like them at +115.

Netherlands vs. Poland

Sunday, Jun 16
9 a.m. ET
Netherlands ML / Under 5 Parlay (-105)

Sam Ingram: Netherlands are going to be solid at the back. If they can keep Poland out of the net — and I don't think they're going to be too efficient in front of the goal — then I think they have enough up top.

Xavi Simons, Memphis Depay, etc., are really going to pack a punch and cause Poland some real problems. But I think they just edge it out and I don't expect this match to be a thriller.
