Rotherham typically sets up in a 5-3-2 formation, which will be needed against this Fulham side that likes to attack with width. They will need to attack on the counter with speed if they have any chance of advancing to the next round in this match. They will be pinned back in their own penalty area for the majority of the match while sitting back, as they have a PPDA of over 17, meaning they do not press at all. Rotherham will need to defend for its lives in this match and pray that it is able to capitalize on a defensive mistake by Fulham. I anticipate Rotherham will play a near full-strength squad, while Fulham may rest a few players after its packed December schedule.
The FA Cup is notorious for upsets, but I don't expect that to happen in this match. However, it is no easy task to break down a team that is playing with 11 men behind the ball for all 90 minutes. Therefore, I will be taking the under 3.5 goals in this match.
