The third round of the French Open continues on Saturday, and we have two very attractive matchups on the women's side, with No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka featuring in one of them and four-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka on the other.

Our experts have picks for these two matches — Sabalenka vs. Kasatkina and Jovic vs. Osaka.

Aryna Sabalenka remains the best player in the world, even though she had a clay-court swing below expectations with losses to Hailey Baptiste in Madrid and Sorana Cîrstea in Rome. However, there was a silver lining, as she entered this major highly refreshed.

Aryna has yet to drop a set in Paris this week, and today I expect another quick victory—a 2-0 win in sets.

Her serve has been firing smoothly. While she doesn’t generally hit an astronomical number of aces, she rarely finishes a match without recording any. She hit an ace in her opening match against Bouzas Maneiro and followed it up yesterday against Elsa Jacquemot by firing two.

Daria Kasatkina is highly talented, but her season has been below her usual standards. She very rarely guns for power on her serve and seldom records more than a single ace per match. She hit just one in a very lengthy baseline battle against Jaqueline Cristian, and managed only one against Bölükbaşı/Sonmez this week.

I expect a similarly low output figure from her today. Given Sabalenka’s baseline power and superior serving speed, the Belarusian should comfortably win the ace count.

Therefore, my prediction backs Sabalenka to hit the most aces.

Pick: Sabalenka to Hit More Aces

Jovic vs. Osaka Odds

Iva Jovic Odds-107
Naomi Osaka Odds-118

Iva Jovic is already establishing herself as a star on the women's tour, despite still being a teenager. If her current trajectory continues normally, she looks very much like a future multiple Grand Slam champion.

She is already knocking on the door of the Top 10, having shown visible improvements in her game with still plenty of room to grow. The most notable difference in her recent form is her power, a direct result of the heavy physical conditioning work she put in over the winter.

Jovic has begun striking her serve with much more velocity, which has naturally seen her ace count rise. She recorded three aces in her opening-round win over Alex Eala, and followed that up with another against Emma Navarro in relatively short matches.

Naomi Osaka is one of the premier names on the WTA Tour, but her current form remains quite volatile. I expect her to face a very complicated challenge today, and there is a real chance she could be pushed to her limits or even defeated.

While Osaka possesses an elite serve of her own, she can frequently be slow to react and get her racket on the ball on the return.

Given Jovic's improved serving rhythm, finding the mark for just one ace seems highly achievable. Therefore, I expect Jovic to hit at least an ace.

Pick: Jovic Over 0.5 Aces
