The French Open continues on Monday, and the tournament's second day will feature a few top players, but we'll have to wait until Tuesday for the main attraction, Jannik Sinner, who is deemed nearly unbeatable this time around at Roland Garros.
We have two picks for Ben Shelton vs. Daniel Merida and Casper Ruud vs. Roman Safiullin on Day 2.

Carlos Alcaraz's absence has left Sinner alone under the spotlight, but many other players will now be scrutinized as everyone looks for a possible challenger.
Casper Ruud is one of those candidates, and the famous Roland Garros courts are a strong argument. Ruud has won 12 of his 14 ATP titles on clay and recently completed a positive season on this surface, leading up to Paris.
After retiring in Monte Carlo due to injury, Ruud played the quarterfinals in Madrid, the final against Sinner in Rome and the semifinals in Geneva.
His best Grand Slam performance was in Paris, when he reached the semifinals in 2024.
Against his current opponent, Roman Safiullin, Ruud won the only matchup in 2025 in straight sets (6-3, 6-3) on hard court at the Masters in Canada, and he should have no trouble winning the first three of this first round on Monday.
Pick: Under 32.5 (-120, DraftKings)
Merida vs Shelton Odds
| Daniel Merida Odds | +298 |
| Ben Shelton Odds | -412 |
| Spread | Merida +5.5 (-120), Shelton -5.5 (-125) |
| Over/Under | 36.5 (-125o / -115u) |

Ben Shelton is not a clay specialist by any means, but he keeps making strides on the surface, climbing up to 15 in the ATP Elo Ratings on clay, compared to his ninth spot on hard courts and 13th on grass.
As evidence, Shelton won the Munich ATP 500 on clay in April, defeating Flavio Cobolli in the final 6-2, 7-5.
The American earned the fifth seed in this year's main draw in Paris and will face an inexperienced Daniel Merida, a 21-year-old ranked 86th in the world.
For this matchup, all Merida has going for him is the surface, as it is his best, which is usual for Spanish players. He ranks 78 there at the ATP Elo Ratings, while he occupies spots 88 and 123 in hard courts and grass, respectively.
He had a good run in the recent clay season, but should come up short against a top opponent like Shelton.
Pick: Shelton -5.5 (-125, DraftKings)
French Open Day 2 Parlay Picks:
- Ruud vs Safiullin Under 32.5 (-120)
- Shelton -5.5 (-125)
Parlay Odds: +230 (DraftKings)
