Pegula vs Gauff Predictions, Betting Analysis
By Tudor Cosma
Pegula is now the second favorite to win Wimbledon (+450) after Naomi Osaka.
With Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina and Iga Swiatek eliminated, Pegula has a strong chance to win her second Grand Slam title and first Wimbledon.
She's an exceptional athlete on grass with few weaknesses. She's shown that in this tournament, as she's only lost one set (against Iva Jovic, who's a huge talent). Even in that match, she clearly dominated the decisive set.
Gauff isn't great on grass. Her talent doesn't disappear and she's still a great champion no matter the surface, but her movement is more modest at the All England Club and her hitting style isn't as efficient.
She's lost a set in three out of her four matches so far in this tournament.
Against Solana Sierra, she was a few points away from elimination, and against Belinda Bencic, she lost the first set and came back.
I'll take Pegula to beat Gauff for a sixth time.
Pick: Jessica Pegula ML -148
