Jasmine Paolini hasn’t impressed me this season. Even on grass, in her only match prior to this Grand Slam tournament, she lost decisively to Tatjana Maria in a performance well below her usual standards.
Obviously, Paolini is a two-time Grand Slam finalist, including here, and she breezed past Maria Sakkari yesterday, so she deserves respect. However, she’s lacked consistency this year.
Her serve isn’t impressive; she’s short and hits few aces. She hit none against Viktorija Golubic, and yesterday she hit only one against Sakkari.
Meanwhile, Alexandra Eala is a rising star on the tour, coming off an incredible match in which she pulled off a major upset, defeating defending champion Iga Swiatek in straight sets.
It struck me as one of the best matches of her career; she was extremely strong on offense, hitting hard and deep, while also being very solid on defense.
Eala managed to keep up with Iga's very intense pace, and this success will give her a huge confidence boost. If she maintains this momentum, she can go far in the tournament.
Eala is powerful and can hit aces. She had four against Maya Joint, then another four against Iga, an excellent player on the return.
I therefore believe Eala is the favorite to win today and will also serve more aces than her opponent.
Pick: Eala To Win (-173, DraftKings) / Eala To Serve More Aces
Krueger vs Kostyuk Odds
| Ashlyn Krueger Odds | +181 |
| Marta Kostyuk Odds | -225 |
| Over/Under | 22.5 (-110o / -135u) |

Ashlyn Krueger has already racked up six consecutive wins, including those in qualifying, so she deserves respect and cannot be underestimated. She’s in good form and has a lot of confidence in her game.
Krueger is also one of the tallest players on the tour, and her serve is effective. This is evident in her ace count. She had six against Vekic — admittedly, a long match — and yesterday she had five in a short match against Snigur.
Marta Kostyuk is in excellent physical shape, very strong, and skilled. She had an excellent clay-court season and is continuing her strong form here.
Not only does she serve aces, but on the return she correctly anticipates her opponent’s serve and concedes very few. In that regard, the ratio was 5-0 against Blinkova and 2-1 against Navarro. I expect to see good numbers in that category for her today as well.
I therefore believe Marta will serve more aces.
My second prop will be double faults. Kostyuk is coming off a fairly conservative match against Emma Navarro, in terms of aces and double faults. She committed only two in three sets.
However, in general, she has more trouble with her opponent’s serve. She committed three double faults in a very short match against Podoroska, then 11 against Blinkova.
So, I expect Marta to commit over 1.5 double faults.
Pick: Kostyuk To Serve More Aces / Kostyuk To Commit Over 1.5 Double Faults
