The Wings snapped their lengthy losing streak in their most recent contest and are coming off a win over the Valkyries. The also have a big win over the Sun already this season, so perhaps this is a spot to start generating some momentum.
Conversely, the Sun have lost four straight — three of which were by double digits.
Jim Turvey's Wings vs. Sun Prediction
The Wings looked very good their last game and are only a -2.9 net rating with Paige Bueckers on the floor this season. Bueckers is starting to get more and more minutes. She played 39 minutes last game and is playing really well. The Wings have also looked to mix things up with their starting lineup as they've got some players out for Eurobasket.
They slid Dijonai Carrington to the bench and she looked a little bit better in that bench roll. I'm curious if she'll stay there as she kind of gets to carry a little bit more of the load for that bench unit. There's only so much usage to go around when you're starting with Ogunbowale and Bueckers, so I don't hate sliding Carrington to the bench and letting her carry that lineup.
On the other side, Connecticut is definitely the worst team in the WNBA. Dallas is technically below the Sun in the standings, but one of Dallas's two wins this year was by 22 in Connecticut. With Dallas, maybe I'm getting roped back in again, but on paper they have a much more talented roster.
This side has taken a little bit of money and I'd play this to -4.5. At -5 or -5.5 I'd switch to maybe a half unit.
