Bet the Sanderson Farms Championship, Win $200 (No Matter What!)

The “swing season” on the PGA continues after a one week hiatus for the Presidents Cup. This week, we head to Jackson, Miss., for the 2022 Sanderson Farms Championship.

Since the tournament has become a main stop on TOUR — which began three years ago — big hitters have had their way with the Country Club of Jackson.

Since the Country Club of Jackson took over as the tournament host in 2014, there have been 14 first-round leaders or co-leaders. Of the 14, nine have come from the AM wave. However, there are expected to be some early morning wind gusts on Thursday.

I believe both AM and PM starters can be played as first-round-leaders this week.

Sanderson Farm Championship First Round Leader Picks

Emiliano Grillo (+4500) (DraftKings)

First Round Tee Time: 12:39 p.m. ET

Emiliano Grillo is a golfer I’ve been thinking about betting in the outright market this week, but his lack of finishing ability always tends to be an issue come the weekend. However, the Argentine tends to be a very fast starter.

The ball striking statistics aren’t what you’d expect of late for Grillo, but the finishes are there. In his past four starts, he’s finished 2nd, 31st, 19th and 25th respectively. He’s been putting surprisingly well so if he can get his irons dialed in this should be a great course for him to go low.

Bet the Sanderson Farms Championship risk-free up to $1,000.

Keegan Bradley (+5000) (DraftKings)

First Round Tee Time: 7:55 a.m. ET

Keegan Bradley is a golfer who I believe can win the tournament, but he has shown throughout his career that he’s more likely to lead after the first round than the last.

The Country Club of Jackson should be a great course fit for the 36-year-old. The past few years at the event have shown how favorable the course setup is for dynamic ball strikers such as Bradley.

As usual, there are questions surrounding Bradley’s ability to make enough putts to go really low on the golf course. However, he’s gained strokes on average for his past 5, 10 and 20 events, so it seems he may have figured something out.

Dean Burmester (+6500) (DraftKings)

First Round Tee Time: 9:01 a.m. ET

There’s no doubt that Dean Burmester has the skill set to absolutely tear apart the Country Club of Jackson. He ranks seventh in the field in driving distance and should be able to take advantage of the par 5s as he puts up birdies in bunches.

We’ve seen long hitters such as Cameron Champ, Sergio Garcia, Sam Burns and Sebastian Munoz use their off-the-tee prowess to go low on the course. The South African is in the same mold of those golfers and has shown on the DP World Tour that he can score with anybody in a one-round sample size.

Get up to $1,100 back if your Sanderson Farms Championship bet loses.

Byeong Hun An (+6500) (DraftKings)

First Round Tee Time: 12:17 p.m. ET

Benny An made an appearance in this article at the Fortinet and he didn’t disappoint. He led the first round for much of the day until Justin Lower went unconscious on his back nine and shot a 63 to open his tournament.

There’s no reason not to go right back to An once again at the Country Club of Jackson. He had a solid overall year on the Korn Ferry Tour and opened his season with a terrific start at Fortinet, finishing in a tie for fourth. He’s also had some success at the course in the past and should be able to take advantage of the wide open layout with his ability to drive the ball a long way.
