The weather rolled in as expected Saturday, but it was so bad that it stopped play and caused a complete change for the rest of the tournament. Peter Malnati leads the way through 12 holes of his third round, but many others have more to play going into Sunday. It will be a unique tournament to handicap with tough weather conditions on Sunday, and likely half of the final round set to be played Monday.

I usually tread lightly in this type of event and will do so even more with the parameters set forth for this tournament. Still, let's see if anyone stands out heading into the final days of the event.

Best Bets

Justin Rose +2100

If you wanted me to pick a player to win going into the weird setup on Sunday, my pick would be Justin Rose. He's been around enough to be able to adjust to things and has shown good form this week. If he can get through his third round on Spyglass, he certainly could be in the mix going into the final round. There are a lot of factors, which leads me to my next comment, but he's someone I would have interest in before the final rounds start.

Nick Taylor +10000

I am not looking to sink much more money into a tournament with so many unknowns, but if I do, it will be on longshots. Nick Taylor fits that bill as he is just six shots outside of the lead, but is also comfortably up in the tree-protected course of Spyglass Hill. Taylor may have a better chance to score than those in the winds on the coastal tracks and could give himself a chance to contend going into Sunday and Monday.
