Here's everything you need to know about the RBC Heritage PrizePicks 2024: First-Round Plays for Thursday's PGA Tour event at Hilton Head.

Harbour Town Golf Links is a par-71, 7,213-yard track designed by Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus that features some of the smallest greens on Tour and thus rewards ball-strikers and strong approach shots.

Rory McIlroy Less Than 68 Strokes

Now is the time to buy low on Rory McIlroy. We are catching a generous number on McIlroy because he struggled out of the gate this season, but he is starting to round back into form with six straight top-25 finishes, including his third-place finish at the Valero Texas Open.

His ball-striking has picked up immensely, which will be important this week at a course where approach shots toward small greens are essential to success. McIlroy has gained strokes on Approach in five of his past six tournaments, but his putter has also been strong as he has gained strokes Putting in five of his past six outings as well.

He continues to trend upward, and McIlroy shot 66 or lower in half of his rounds here last time around.

Tommy Fleetwood Less Than 68.5 Strokes

I wrote about Fleetwood in my FRL article this week, and if I like him to lead after the first round, then I obviously like him to record less than 68.5 strokes. He enters Thursday in great form after a third-place finish at last week's Masters and a seventh-place finish the week prior at the Valero Texas Open.

Fleetwood gained strokes on Approach in each of those events, which will be the key to success at Hilton Head. He has also made the weekend here in three of his four career appearances, finishing inside the top 25 in all three of those outings.

Subsequently, Fleetwood has fired a 68 or lower in three of his past five rounds at Hilton Head.

Corey Conners More Than 4.5 Birdies or Better

Corey Conners is the last golfer to back on Thursday. Whenever we get a course that rewards players who excel on approach, I immediately look for how we can back Conners.

He is one of the best ball-strikers on Tour who is often held back because of his short game, but those troubles will be more than taken care of this week if his iron game presumably shows up. Conners has gained strokes on Approach in 14 consecutive tournaments, making the cut in all 14 outings.

Therefore, it is not shocking that Conners has made the weekend each of the past four years here, including a 12th-place finish in 2022 and fourth-place finish in 2021. Despite a slight dip in production at Hilton Head last year, he still recorded five or more birdies in two of the final three rounds.
