The Outlook

The newest green jacket winner, Reed has had a stellar 2018 season, finishing in the top 10 in four of his past six tournaments. He’s shown high-end potential in majors, even outside of the Masters, finishing second in 2017 at the PGA Championship, which is the longest major of the year. He’ll need that distance at Shinnecock this year, which is playing nearly 7,500 yards as a par-70. His recent form is much better than his long-term form, so to back him you’ll have to bet on all of that continuing. Considering he’s mostly had success this year thanks to a hot putter and beautiful scrambling, I’ll likely fade him in most formats. There are better values in his range in both betting and DFS.
