The Outlook
It would be a cliche to insist that this 51-year-old is getting better with age, so let’s instead put it this way: He certainly isn’t getting any worse. Stricker’s familiar game of fairways and greens and tons of made putts has left him competitive against the proverbial flat-bellies longer than most others at this point in their careers. And perhaps just as impressively, he appears hungrier than most others after 50, as evidenced by a second consecutive year of him slogging through the 36-hole sectional qualifier to reach this week’s field. Last year, that paid off with a T-16 result.
