Athletics vs Reds Predictions, Picks: Our Same-Game Parlay
Story: Longshot SGP for Tuesday Night
The Reds will host the Reds on Tuesday evening in the first of a three-game set at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.
29-year-old right-hander Brady Singer will take the mound for the Reds, while the A’s will send out righty J.T. Ginn in a game I expect plenty of offense.
Below, I will break down Tuesday night’s interleague clash and further provide a “same-game-parlay” (SGP) betting angle that you can take when wagering on this matchup.
Pick 1: Elly De La Cruz Over 1.5 HRR
For the first leg of our SGP for Tuesday night, I favor backing Reds’ superstar SS Elly De La Cruz to soar over his 1.5 HRR (Hits + Runs + RBIs) mark in what could be a massive day at the plate for the 24-year-old Dominican.
Since entering the Major Leagues in 2023, Elly has lived up to the hype and more with the Reds’ youngster boasting exceptional slugging metrics along with an unmatched stolen base prowess on the base paths.
I expect Cincy’s phenom switch-hitter to make his mark again in a matchup he should have a definitive edge.
The Reds’ superstar performs exceptionally well at the plate, boasting an advanced OPS profile against right-handed pitching in 2026.
I think there are several avenues to Elly exceeding his 1.5 HRR mark on Tuesday in a matchup I absolutely love for the Reds’ star.
Pick 2: Elly De La Cruz 1+ Stolen Base
Given the A’s right-hander’s occasional struggles in finding the strike zone over his 2026 campaign thus far, I feel this is a great spot to target Elly’s exceptional base running ability given the high likelihood that the 24-year-old will find himself on the basepaths on Tuesday.
That said, I'm willing to take a shot on De La Cruz to record a stolen base as the second leg of our Tuesday SGP in what should result in our parlay significantly increasing in its overall value.
Pick 3: Lawrence Butler 1+ Hit
For a third and final leg in our SGP for Tuesday night, I favor backing Athletics’ OF Lawrence Butler to record a hit given his previous success at the plate versus the Reds’ right-hander.
Despite Singer having been a very solid starter for the Royals with his having recorded ERA’s sub 3.70 in two of his five seasons in Kansas City, the 29-year-old has struggled mightily on the bump across his first 18 months in Cincinnati.
In 21 starts this season, Singer has recorded a 4.35 ERA along with a rather inefficient 1.42 WHIP as well.
Despite Butler’s horrific 2026 form at the plate, the 26-year-old has fared very well versus the Reds’ righty in the past with the A’s lefty having smashed a homer in one of his previous three encounters with Singer.
While Kurtz has struggled versus Singer’s sinker-heavy arsenal (47.1% USG per BARTOLO) on the bump, Lawrence has surprisingly fared very well versus sinkers in the past couple seasons with that being the exact pitch he previously smashed for a solo shot against the Reds’ righty.
Butler’s left-handed swing is ideal versus a heavy sinker/slider pitch mix as it has given the hitter a leverage spot if Singer is to hang a breaking ball over the heart of the plate.
Though Butler has been horrific at the plate in 2026, I'm willing to take a shot on the A’s 26-year-old to record a hit building upon his previous dominance versus Cincinnati’s right-hander.
How To Make Athletics vs Reds Parlay Picks
- Elly De La Cruz Over 1.5 HRR
- Elly De La Cruz 1+ Stolen Base
- Lawrence Butler 1+ Hit
Parlay Odds: +590
