Braves vs Phillies MLB Betting Preview
The Braves are looking to complete the sweep against their division rivals. It would be an impressive result for them, especially since it's on the road. Atlanta's pitching has been able to completely shut down the Phillies, limiting them to only one run in these two games.
Grant Holmes takes the mound for the Braves. While he's struggled with control, issuing two or more walks in each outing, he's also limited opponents to three earned runs or fewer during that stretch. He's even been able to pitch deep into games, going six innings or more in two of four starts.
Atlanta's bullpen has been excellent so far this year, putting up a 3.58 xFIP (4th), which could help continue to keep the Phillies at bay, as they've done throughout this series.
The Phillies will send out their impressive young right-hander, Andrew Painter. Painter has been extremely impressive so far, as highlighted by his 2.19 xERA and 21.3 K-BB%.
Action PRO projects him for 4.5 strikeouts tonight.
What's been huge has been Painter's command, including a 4.9% walk rate and a 112 Location+. In two of his three starts, he's allowed one earned run with one walk and at least seven strikeouts.
Like the Braves, the Phillies relievers have been terrific, putting up a 3.44 xFIP (3rd). They'll need them to step up in this one, since Painter hasn't gone past the fifth inning yet this season.

Braves vs Phillies Pick, Betting Analysis
Aside from Holmes' ability to pitch into the sixth inning, Painter's superb command, and the effectiveness of each of these teams' bullpens, there's one other important angle to consider in this game: weather.
It's going to be a chilly night in Philadelphia, with 52-degree temperatures for this NL East tilt on Sunday Night Baseball.
That sounds like pitcher-friendly conditions.
With that in mind, I'm going with the full-game Under. I'm targeting the entire game because each bullpen has been terrific for these two teams.
Bet on another low-scoring game in this series.
Pick: Under 8 (-106, FanDuel)
