Justin Van Zuiden’s Tigers vs Cardinals Preview
The Tigers pushed starting Jack Flaherty back to Thursday so he can go against the Guardians. Thus, manager AJ Hinch will roll with a bullpen game on Wednesday.
They also used their highest-leverage bullpen arms when closing out a tough 5-4 victory on Tuesday (Will Vest, Tommy Kahnle, Tyler Holton, Brenan Hanifee).
Meanwhile, Cardinals starting pitcher Andre Pallante is a ground-ball specialist. His pitch mix generally makes him more effective against lefties, which will neutralize some of the top power bats in the Detroit lineup.
