Royals vs Athletics MLB Betting Preview
The Royals had their four-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday, falling short 5-2 despite a ninth-inning rally. They'll look to take the rubber match of this series with lefty Noah Cameron on the mound.
Cameron was able to bounce back in his last start, allowing three earned runs in 6.1 innings against the Angels. However, his previous two outings included five earned runs allowed to both the Yankees and the White Sox.
This is a tough spot for Cameron, as Sutter Health Park is one of the most hitter-friendly environments in MLB. The good news is that the A's have struggled vs. lefties, putting up a 73 wRC+, which ranks 27th in MLB.
The Athletics will try to get it done at home with Jeffrey Springs on the mound. Despite hitting a rough patch with 11 earned runs in his last two outings, Springs has been quite good this season, as highlighted by a 2.92 xERA.
Like the A's, the Royals have had a tough time against southpaws this season, registering an 88 wRC+, which ranks 19th in MLB.
We've seen Springs shut down both the Rangers and the Astros at home, so Sutter Health Park hasn't been as damaging to him so far. There's a reasonable chance that we see a quality outing from him here.

Royals vs Athletics Pick, Betting Analysis
This has been a much lower-scoring series than expected so far, with the Royals winning 4-1 in the first game and the A's getting it done 5-2 in the second.
With both the Royals (19th in wRC+) and Athletics (28th in wRC+) struggling in lefties, this could be another game that stays under the total.
However, I don't want to take a risk with these bullpens, since they're relatively taxed, especially since the first game went 10 innings. That's why I'm sticking to the first five innings for this one.
Pick: F5 Under 5.5 (-128)
