On Monday, we travel to Milwaukee to find value in a NRFI between two National League teams: The Milwaukee Brewers and the New York Mets.

The Mets will send out Max Scherzer, who is 15-5 to the NRFI with a proficient 7-3 road NRFI split. When facing batters the first time through the order, Scherzer has performed extremely well. In 167 batters faced he has only allowed 30 hits, which is good for a .180 average against.

Here is how some of these Brewers hitters have done in the past against Scherzer:

  • Andrew McCutchen: 8-for-39
  • Willy Adames: 0-for-5
  • Rowdy Tellez: 1-for-5
  • Jace Peterson: 5-for-25
  • Kolten Wong: 5-for-25

Scherzer has performed very well in the past against these particular hitters, owning all of his matchups.

The Milwaukee Brewers were counter with her ace in Corbin Burnes, who is a league-best 25-3 to the NRFI with an impressive 14-1 home NRFI split. When facing batters for the first time in the game, Burnes has also performed very well. In 239 at-bats he is only issued 44 hits, which is suitable for a .184 average.

Burnes also does particularly well against teams' leadoff hitters. In 83 leadoff hitters faced, only 16 hits have been managed.

Here is how Burnes has done in the past against some of these Mets hitters:

  • Pete Alonso 3-for-9
  • Mark Canha: 0-for-2
  • Francisco Lindor: 1-for-12
  • Jeff McNeil: 3-for-10
  • Daniel Vogelbach: 1-for-6

The Mets NRFI on the road 76% of the time, which is 10% higher than their overall record at 66%. They are also coming in today running a hot 8-3 NRFI streak.

Both of these teams are competing for their divisions in very tight races. The Brewers are two games behind the Phillies for the last wild-card spot. The Mets are in a neck-and-neck race with the Braves to win the division.

With little room for error for both teams, bet on these two outstanding NRFI pitchers to pitch a scoreless first inning today.

As always, six outs to glory…
