Today, we'll create a custom No Runs First Inning (NRFI) bet by analyzing the performances of two pitchers. This personalized bet can be crafted through sportsbooks such as DraftKings and Barstool.

This NRFI bet is different from a traditional NRFI, as it combines two separate half innings from the first innings of two different games. This approach allows you to have a better edge and tailor the bet to your preferences.

Our first selection for today’s custom NRFI features Joe Musgrove, the ace of the Padres. Musgrove has been impressive this season, boasting a stellar 12-2 NRFI record, which brings his overall NRFI record to an impressive 35-8 since 2022.

To Musgrove's advantage today, he has limited exposure to the majority of the Blue Jays' hitters. However, in the matchups he's had, Musgrove has fared well, holding George Springer (1-for-3), Whit Merrifield (1-for-4) and Matt Chapman (1-for-7) in check.

Furthermore, the Jays have struggled in the first inning since July 1, managing only five hits in 40 plate appearances, resulting in a .147 average.

They have also struck out 15 times during that span, which ranks as the third-most in MLB.

Our second selection for today’s custom NRFI focuses on Hunter Brown, the talented right-hander of the Astros. Brown has been impressive this season, boasting a 14-3 NRFI record, including a solid 7-2 road NRFI split.

Overall, Brown's NRFI record stands at an impressive 16-3 since 2022.

Similar to Musgrove, Brown has limited exposure to the majority of the Rockies' hitters. However, in the lone matchup he's had, he's kept Harold Castro hitless in three at-bats.

There are a few Rockies hitters who are currently in a significant slump. Ryan McMahon has managed only five hits in his last 31 at-bats for a .161 average. Right behind him, Nolan Jones has recorded four hits in his last 24 at-bats for a .167 average. Lastly, Ezequiel Tovar has six hits in his last 31 at-bats for a .194 average.

This custom NRFI selection is priced at -141 on DraftKings.

As always, six outs to glory.
