We went 1-2 — although one of the losses came on a half-unit bet — Monday for a slow start to the week.
We have a couple more picks on Tuesday for the full slate of games.
Let's dive into my MLB NRFI picks and model predictions for Tuesday.
MLB NRFI, YRFI Picks and Predictions — June 17, 2025
Cardinals vs. White Sox NRFI/YRFI Prediction
Starting Pitchers: Matthew Liberatore vs. Shane Smith
While the White Sox are technically on the stronger side of their platoon splits tonight against the left-handed Liberatore, their 81 wRC+ against lefties is still well below average.
That, coupled with Liberatore's 2.60 first time through the order ERA makes them not very threatening.
The Cardinals are a much better lineup, of course, although their best hitters are mostly in the middle of the order not at the top. However, Shane Smith has a 2.37 overall ERA that drops to 1.65 his first time through the order, making him a solid NRFI pitcher.
Given the low juice at FanDuel is more than enough for me, and we might even get a better line later, as the total seems to be trending upward.
Brewers vs. Cubs NRFI/YRFI Prediction
Starting Pitchers: Chad Patrick vs. Ben Brown
We've got a classic Wrigley weather spot tonight, with the conditions providing a 23% boost to scoring per Weather Edge.
While there are some concerns about a late delay due to rain, the wind, temperature, and humidity are ideal hitting conditions early.
Plus, Patrick and Brown both have higher xFIP marks overall than they do early in games, so the runs we do have are likely to be concentrated early. With the Cubs having a borderline-elite lineup at the top of the order, this is worth laying the juice on at BetMGM.
