Chris Prince's Yankees vs Blue Jays Best Bet: This Line's Too High
By Chris Prince
Kevin Gausman has been solid in the strikeout department this season, but this number simply feels too high and I'll be attacking the under at 6.5 strikeouts tonight. Gausman has a decent 23.1% strikeout rate this season, but that number dips to just 20.8% against lefties. This is a similar trend from 2024, when his strikeout rate against lefties was just 20%.
The Yankees are projected to roll out up to seven left-handed hitters tonight, and while some of those bats are certainly vulnerable to strikeouts, they have been much better in that area over the past 30 days.
We have seen this matchup twice already this season, and Gausman has a TOTAL of five strikeouts in those two games. This number should be 5.5, so I have no problem paying the -145 on under 6.5 strikeouts tonight.
