For my Monday MLB player props, I'll be looking into a pair of hot hitters in Kyle Stowers and Shea Langeliers.
However, we will begin with a strikeout prop in Cleveland, where Bradley Blalock and the Rockies will be taking on the Guardians.
Let's dive into my MLB player props and Major League Baseball picks for the games on Monday, July 28.
MLB Player Props for Monday, July 28
- Bradley Blalock Under 2.5 Strikeouts (+105 · BetMGM)
- Kyle Stowers Over 1.5 Total Bases (+140 · BetMGM )
- Shea Langeliers Over 1.5 Total Bases (+115 · BetMGM)
Rockies vs Guardians Player Prop
Over the last few years, the Guardians have been one of the most difficult teams to strike out in the MLB. They have added some swing-and-miss to their lineup this season, but they still rank in the middle of the pack in strikeouts.
However, they might not strike out much at all tonight.
Bradley Blalock has just nine strikeouts in 27 innings this season. In seven appearances (five starts), Blalock has had one strikeout or fewer in six of them. He has worked four innings or more in three of those outings, yet that didn't matter.
He also hasn't pitched very well, with an 8.67 ERA and 1.78 WHIP this season. The major dent in his ERA came when he allowed 12 earned runs in 3 2/3 innings in a 21-0 loss to the Padres. The Reds also touched him up for six runs in four innings.
If he has another outing like that tonight in Cleveland, he won't rack up three strikeouts.
Marlins vs Cardinals Player Prop
Last Tuesday, we backed Kyle Stowers for two total bases, and he cashed with a double. He has had two total bases in three of his previous four games since and eight of his last 10 games overall, averaging 4.1 total bases per game in that span.
Stowers is slashing .361/.462/.845 with 13 home runs and 29 RBIs over his past 30 games. Tonight, he'll be in a strong spot once again.
Andre Pallante enters tonight's start with a 4.91 ERA and 1.37 WHIP and has allowed five runs or more in each of his last three starts. He has also allowed 19 extra-base hits, including seven home runs, to left-handed hitters this season, and that will benefit Stowers tonight.
Given how hot Stowers has been, I also considered him for hits + runs + runs batted in, which he has also cashed in five of his last six games.
However, Stowers once again has a generous price for his total bases at +140 on BetMGM. Cashing at 80% over his previous 10 games, I will be backing Stowers once again tonight.
Mariners vs Athletics Player Prop
Shea Langeliers has been a man on a mission since returning from the IL.
Since June 30, he's slashing .293/.325/.640 with five doubles, seven home runs and 15 RBIs. He has homered in each of his last three games, moving up to 17 dingers on the year.
Tonight, he returns home to West Sacramento in a very familiar matchup.
Langeliers is 5-for-17 (.294) with a .898 OPS against Mariners starter Luis Castillo. Three of the five hits have gone for extra bases, with two doubles and a triple. Castillo has been tough on right-handers this season with a .218 opposing batting average, but he has allowed nine doubles and six home runs against him. He also has a 4.74 ERA away from T-Mobile Park this season.
Langeliers has 13 doubles and 13 home runs against right-handers this season. He has a hit in nine of his last 10 games, and he has cleared two total bases in seven of them.
Over that span, he's averaging 3.4 total bases per game. However, we will cash this line with two tonight.
